HDR
HDR (Hight Dynamic Range) Photography is a technique where you
take several pictures of the same scene with varying exposure
levels. Then you use some compu-voo-doo to mash them all together
into one image. Tone mapping algorithms combine all the details
captured in the multiple images into one image with extra
detail.
This is my first batch of experimental images using the
technique. Sometimes the tone mapping can make the image look
pretty strange and surreal. For some pictures that's good,
not so much for others.
Hall Park (31 Images)
These pictures were all taken at or near my house in the neighborhood of Hall Park.
OU Night (23 Images)
I had to turn the ISO speed way up on my camera to get decent exposures in the dark. That also makes the pictures very noisy. Add to that a tone mapping algorithm that tends to produce noise in very dark spots and you get some serious noise.
